The "We Care" Program

St. Mark’s is pleased to announce the launching of the “We Care” Program as part of our education program for your child.

The “We Care” program is an Environment Based Learning program sponsored by the institute and focused on caring for your child’s all round educational and personality development.

The program is part of our “Quality Holistic Education” approach and seeks to extend education beyond the traditional class room, allowing the students to relate in a creative and fun way, with what is being taught and in that process better prepare them to confidently face the real world.

The program will consist of a specific theme and related special focus activities each month, which will focus on teaching your child real world aspects of what they learn as part of the class room education.

    The theme for September 2009 is “Apple A Day”, which will focus on teaching your child about healthy living. As part of “Apple A Day”, the institute will sponsor healthy break snacks for the children for the month of September, that has been formulated by a dietitian.

    The schedule will be as follows and will run through the month of September.

    • On each Monday for the month of September, the school will offer a break snack of balanced fruits for your child. Click here to see photos.
    • On each Wednesday for the month of September, the school will offer a break snack of cereals and milk for your child. Click here to see photos.

    • A quiz competition was held at school on October 6th, 2009, to reinforce what was taught during the “Apple A Day” program. Click here to see photos.
  • October 2009 - “Save Our Planet”. Click here to see details.

    The theme for October 2009 is “Save Our Planet”, which will focus on teaching your child about the environment and building in them responsible individuals, aware about environment conservation. As part of “Save Our Planet”, the institute will sponsor a sapling for each child to grow and in the process be thought to care for it.

    The schedule will be as follows and will run through the month of October.

    • Your child will be taught the aspects of environment cleanliness. Click here to see photos.
    • Saplings will be planted in the campus and each child will plant a sampling for them selves and care for it through the month. Click here to see photos.
    • Your child will be taught the importance of a clean environment and recycling. A weekly cleanliness routine will be started with each class being judged for its cleanliness and also a recycling waste basket introduced. Click here to see photos.
    • A competition was run between all the classes to judge the best kept and clean class room. UKG won the competition and celebrated with a cake. Click here to see photos.

    The theme for November 2009 is “Safety First”, which will focus on teaching your child various safety aspects. As part of “Safety First”, the institute in cooperation with the Cochin Fire Department will put in place a permanent Fire Evacuation Procedure and your child will be trained in the same and a drill run periodically.

    The institute has also put in place, fire fighting equipment throughout the campus as part of this campaign.

    The schedule will be as follows and will run through the month of November.

    • A first aid kit will be introduced and your child will be taught the importance and facts about the same. Click here to see photos.
    • In cooperation with the Cochin Fire Department, a fire evacuation drill will be introduced and taught to the school. Click here to see photos.
    • Your child will be taught how to use a seat belt in a car and the importance of the same. We will do this with a real car at the school. Click here to see photos.
    • Your child will be taught the various aspects of safety at home through a house visit. Click here to see photos.
    • The Cochin Fire Department and Traffic Police Department will be talk to the students about respective safety aspects. Click here to see photos.
